Day two of the festival was filled with even more interesting talks than the first. We met up at Inkwell and Informa's headquarters for the week to meet with Inkwell's founder Adrianne Smith and Michelle Morgan from WPP Media. They both told us more about their careers and what they have done for the companies they represent, which was insightful and just knowing you have to apply yourself for the change you want to see in the future. After our morning meet up I went to Pinterest Beach with Kyleigh because I heard they were doing tattoos and I really wanted one as a little souvenir as well as to say that I got it done in Cannes. We had set up an appointment for 2 p.m, so while we were waiting we went over to Sport Beach again and listened to a talk that featured Shaq and Lina Polimeni where they talked about how he and Eli Lilly and Company have built a strong partnership. Their first campaign together was an awareness campaign and how talking about health and health journeys creates resonance with people. Another thing that stood out in this talk was when Lina said that once you understand the brand and its truth then you can hand it over to someone else, which made me confused in the moment because why would you spend so much time understanding more about the brand and what they're about if you're going to hand it over anyway. But now that I've sat down and thought about what she said I feel like this creates an opportunity to expand the brand and on its truth to have a larger and stronger impact to those who are taking it in. After getting the tattoo we went to lunch at Beau and I had a delicious burger then set off to FQ to listen to a talk featuring Robert Griffin III (former NFL quarterback), Dexter Fowler (former MLB center fielder) and Miles Chemley Watson (professional American fencer) where they discussed life, leadership and legacy. Then I went to the Tuesday Awards Show, which was really cool to see some of the winning works and the amount of creativity that was poured into each one. The most interesting one that I saw utilizing creativity was for sports and it's the Peru Club Deportivo Municipal brand sponsorship campaign. I really enjoyed seeing how the team crafted a jersey with tiny squares filled with sponsorships that not only up the support for the team, but how that drove people to try these places to help the business. I just like seeing the relationship dynamic and how it positively impacted all of them in the end.
