Picnic and Perfume

Today we had a picnic in a garden, which was very beautiful and inside the shop smelled amazing with all the floral scents. On our way to the picnic site we walked passed what I believe to be a little manmade pond and it had some koi fish in it, which was really cool to see because I don't see those often back home. Also these koi fish were huge. I don't think I have ever seen one as big as my arm or forearm before. Lunch was really good. we had a sandwich, which used a French baguette and was really good, with some potato chips and applesauce. We then went to make our own perfume at the Perfumerie Galimard and that in itself was a very fun experience. I loved smelling all the essential oils and being able to choose my base notes, heart notes and top notes based on what I loved the most. I noticed after my base notes and heart notes were mixed together that the vibe my perfume gave off was summer, which really called to me so I named my perfume Summer Day Out and I'm really happy with how it turned out. After we got a tour of Galimard where I learned that it was the oldest perfume house in France that was founded in 1747. I also thought it was very interesting to learn the different ways that the essential oils were extracted from flowers by either boiling or doing it by hand. A fun fact that I learned is that some flowers are too delicate to boil so they have to extract the oils by hand and the process can take up to two months to have a good amount of essential oil to work with. This experience was really fun to learn from and understand all the hard work that goes into perfume making. I purchased two 6 packs of small perfumes for men and women to bring home to my family as a little souvenir. Then I ate dinner with Ava, Chase, Ciera, Hannah and Kyleigh at Rosana Cannes, which was also really fun. My favorite thing we discussed at dinner was trying to guess each other's zodiac signs like Chase and Ava are virgo's, Ciera's a cancer, Hannah's a scorpio and Kyleigh is an aries.
