Arrival Day in Cannes

I arrived in Nice, France at 8:10 this morning and my first thoughts after going through customs and getting my luggage was that it was hot from the humidity. I started my journey by taking a taxi to get to the college where we'll be staying and the view was gorgeous. There were buildings everywhere and a bunch of greenery, which is much different than the desert scene that I'm used to back home. Upon arriving I immediately noticed how friendly everyone is here, which helped ease my nerves as this is my first time out of the United States. I was very excited to meet everyone in the program and even made great connections with everyone in the group already. After getting delicious pizza and salad from Papagiò and some gelato at La Gelateria our small group of girls were walking back to the college and I had great conversations getting to know them more like their majors, more of what they're interested in, where they're from and shared small stories of our experiences from being on campus. I would say my first day was a success and I'm looking forward to creating so many memories and exploring of what Cannes has to offer.
